Frank Yan

Sam Yan

We're Frank and Sam, seniors at the Quarry Lane School, and compete under the team code Quarry Lane YY. We've competed in Public Forum for six years, so we've been around... We've ranked as high as top one in California and top eight in the nation, broke at every national tournament we attended, and acquired eight bids to the Tournament of Champions. Most notably, we won the Peach State Classic tournament without dropping a single ballot.

We founded The Debate Hub to combat resource inequities in the activity. Debate's barrier to entry is incredibly high — coaches, summer camps, and constant financial support to attend tournaments across the country. Coming from a background where we got access to those resources, our goal is to disseminate our knowledge, resources, and experiences to help less fortunate current and prospective debaters.

Andy Gong

I'm Andy, a senior at the Quarry Lane School. I've participated in debate for three years and plan to continue into college. As a long-term member of The Debate Hub, I've extensively assisted with budget management, curriculum design, and video editing. I'm excited to continue improving access to debate, one step at a time!

Pranav Aiyer

I'm Pranav, a junior at the Quarry Lane School. I've been competing in Policy debate for three years under the team code Quarry Lane AC, and I'm currently 29th in the nation. I recently acquired my first bid to the Tournament of Champions with my semifinal result at the Westminster tournament. I plan to continue improving with The Debate Hub's peers!

Jackson Gao

I'm Jackson, a senior at Quarry Lane School. My experience in high school debate has provided me a valuable foundation in my research, critical thinking, and persuasive abilities. At The Debate Hub, I manage the club's finances. I'm looking forward to meeting you all as we work together to level the playing field in high school competitive debate!

Jason Fan

I'm Jason, a senior at the Quarry Lane School. I've debated for four years on the national circuit and have participated in dozens of tournaments. As an ESL-Chinese speaker, I've learned how to navigate the debate community, even the high speeds of Policy debate, and hope to share my experiences to make debate more accessible!
